I was delighted to be an invited guest at the launch of the Northern Ireland branch of the Coaching Psychology Group. It was also a celebration of 10 years of Coaching Psychology in the UK. The launch and celebration took place at the Northern Ireland British Psychogical Society Conference in La Mon Hotel outside of Belfast.
I remember the beginnings of the Special Interest Group of Coaching Psychology in the UK and it certainly doesn't seem like 10 years ago. It was shortly afterwards in 2008 that I started the Coaching Psychology Group in Ireland along with Carmel O'Neill. As Chair of the CPG I welcomed the development of the Northern Ireland branch of Coaching Psychology and offered assistance to work together in relation to joint events and sharing of information.
It was a very informative weekend with speakers in relation to sport and exercise psychology, the development of regret, how to bring sport, occupational and coaching psychology closer together and engaging those that are unemployed.
I look forward to working more closely with the Three Chairs!
